Hercampure (Gentianella Alborosea (Gilg) Fabris) is a dicotyledonous plant of Gentianaceae (Gentianella) genus native from Puna (Wilderness) at an altitude of 3,500 to 4,000 m in Peru. In Peru it is used as a traditional medicinal herb from the pre-Inca era. Its name comes from the Quechua word "Hjircanpureck" which means "Who walks from town to town", in allusion to the doctors who visit the villages carrying it to cure people’s deseases.
